JOB SUMMARY:

To provide effective management of the Technical, Strategic and Business Development activities in the Process Systems and Solutions Department, to ensure operational excellence, customer satisfaction and service growth and development.

Job Title: Control Systems Manager

Indirect Reporting: None Identified

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and implement business development goals and objectives to support the growth of the business unit.
  • Ensure compliance with the established Quality Management System in relation to the Process Systems and Solutions Department.
  • Meet and exceed, where possible, both Emerson’s and PML’s support requirements for Control and Information Technology systems.
  • Contribute to the development of the company’s annual strategic plans.
  • Effectively develop and execute the departments’ operational plans in alignment with the established strategic plans.
  • Provide engineering and technical lead support to team members, existing and potential clients.
  • Develop and implement training and development plans for all direct reports to maintain an effective engineering team and enhance personal development.
  • Provide guidance, coaching and mentoring to direct reports.
  • Facilitate the development of team members by knowledge sharing and transfer and by providing timely performance feedback and guidance, to support the achievement of individual and departmental goals.
  • Support other departments in the adoption and execution of sound engineering practices.
  • Lead in observing and promoting the company’s vision and core values with team members.
  • Build strong client relationships, with a key focus on customer satisfaction, ongoing engagement and establishing long-term service agreements.
  • Strictly enforce the company’s HSE and Quality programs.
  • Provide broad operational and strategic oversight of the company’s Information Technology function.
  • Conduct customer training, where applicable.

REQUIRED COMPETENCIES:

Qualifications:

  • BSc. in Electrical and Computer Engineering or similar qualification, from an accredited institution.
  • Post graduate qualification would be an asset.

Experience:

  • A minimum of Ten (10) years’ relevant technical experience with Control Systems, with at least Five (5) years in a managerial capacity.
  • Significant experience and a strong digital proficiency in modern CRM systems, MS Suite, ERP systems and other related business software.
  • Business Development experience in the provision of technical products and solution services will be an asset.

Knowledge:

  • Excellent working knowledge of Control Systems Engineering.
  • Excellent working knowledge of Strategic Planning and Business Development activities.
  • Working knowledge of Information Technology & DeltaV Process Control Systems would be an asset.
